Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve specific aches, pains and tension within the deeper layers of the body. Due to the amount of pressure and intensity involved, open communication is crucial. Deep tissue work is often uncomfortable, but should NEVER be painful. Keep in mind that soreness is common the first day or two after a deep tissue massage, especially if you're new to massage therapy. Once this initial soreness subsides, you should feel much better than you did prior to your massage and will at that time be aware of the benefits of deep tissue work.
